I am Neil Venkatesh, a Senior at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, IL, and the founder of Kind2Mindz, a nonprofit organization. From a young age, I've nurtured a passion for assisting those in need. Through Kind2Mindz, my goal is to disrupt the cycle of disadvantage, opening the door to a brighter future for individuals facing challenges.
My personal mission revolves around 1) bridging the gap between senior citizens and technology and 2) generate opportunities to break generational poverty through education. I organize virtual programs for seniors and coordinate donation drives to support the 204-school district and other local organizations, providing essential supplies such as backpacks, school materials, and books to students in need. I am excited to elevate my mission to new heights and continue making a positive impact on both the local community and society at large.
Kind2Mindz started as an initiative. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognized the need to assist those most vulnerable. With the onset of stay-at-home guidelines, we realized that senior citizens would be greatly affected by social isolation. To combat loneliness and provide entertainment, Kind2Mindz decided to connect people virtually through Bingo games. By August 2020, Kind2Mindz expanded its reach and services, transitioning into a nonprofit organization. Determined to assist individuals facing various challenges caused due to age, poverty, homelessness, disability, and accessibility issues, our goal is to break the cycle of disadvantage while promoting solidarity and equality.
